Jets Place S Marcus Maye On IR, Promote DB Jeremy Clark

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Jets have placed S Marcus Maye on injured reserve Saturday.

The Jets also promoted DB Jeremy Clark to their active roster.

Maye has dealt with foot, thumb and shoulder of injuries this year and it appears as though the Jets felt it was best to shut him down and allow him to focus on getting healthy.

Maye, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $6.554 million contract that included $4.134 million guaranteed.

In 2018, Maye has appeared in six games for the Jets and recorded 33 tackles, a half sack, an interception, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
