Jets Release Veteran WR David Nelson

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported earlier this morning that the Jets have released veteran WR David Nelson.

This move is to obviously free up a roster spot for Percy Harvin, who was acquired from the Seahawks last night.

Nelson, 26, signed a two-year contract extension with the Jets back in December of last year. He had been dealing with an ankle injury in recent weeks.

This year, Nelson has appeared in six games and caught eight passes for 65 yards and no touchdowns.
