The New York Jets announced that they have signed C Kyle Friend and TE Jason Vander Laan to their practice squad on Tuesday.
The Jets’ practice squad now consists of:
- CB Bryson Keeton
- RB Brandon Wilds
- OLB Victor Ochi
- WR Darius Jennings
- FB Chris Swain
- DE Kenny Anunike
- G Martin Wallace
- RB Brandon Burks
- C Kyle Friend
- TE Jason Vander Laan
Friend, 22, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in May. New York, unfortunately, decided to waive him as they trimmed their roster down to 75 players.
The Jets later signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers but waived him to make room for WR Myles White and OT Jesse Davis.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Vander Laan, 24, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent this year out of Ferris State. He also was cut from the team as they got down to 75 players.
He converted to tight end upon entering the NFL after appearing as a quarterback at Ferris State during his four-year college career.
Vander Laan has yet to appear in an NFL game.
