Jets Worked Out RBs Tarvaris Cadet & Knile Davis

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Jets are working out veteran RB Travaris Cadet on Tuesday.

  • Adam Caplan adds that the Jets also worked out Knile Davis on Tuesday.

The Jets have been tied to Cadet dating back to the offseason, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Cadet worked out for the Redskins a few weeks ago but left Washington without a deal.

Cadet, 28, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012. He spent three years in New Orleans before he was allowed to test the open market in 2015.

The Patriots elected to sign Cadet to a two-year contract worth $1.75 million. Unfortunately, they cut him loose during the season. The 49ers later signed him to a contract after they lost Carlos Hyde for the season, but was waived towards the end of the year and later claimed off of waivers by the Saints.

Cadet returned to New Orleans on one-year deals each of the past two seasons but was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Cadet appeared in 15 games and rushed 19 yards on four carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 281 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He also contributed 144 kick return yar
