Joe McKnight Taking Snaps At CB In Case Of An Emergency

Manish Mehta of the New Daily News reports that  the New York Jets are reportedly preparing running back Joe McKnight to play cornerback in case of an emergency situation.

McKnight’s previous role has been as a third-down back, but Bilal Powell seems to have secured that role and the Jets are now looking to gain some depth at the cornerback postion following Darelle Revis’ recent concussion. The Jets have only four healthy players at the position, which is why McKnight saw reps on the other side of the ball during the week.

McKnight actually played cornerback and  free safety back in high school before USC head coach Pete Carroll turned him into a running back. It’s hard to say whether or not he could be a productive corner in the NFL, but I guess it’s a possibility.
