Michael Crabtree Is Being Investigated For An Alleged Sexual Assault

KTVU reports that San Francisco police have informed them that 49ers WR Michael Crabtree is being investigated for an alleged sexual assault.

Police interviewed Crabtree regarding the allegations made by a woman following last weekend’s win over the Packers, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The alleged attack reportedly occurred at an unnamed hotel.

Here’s a statement release by the 49ers: (Adam Caplan)

We are aware of the allegation against Michael and understand that he has fully cooperated with authorities. The 49ers take such matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing. Additional requests for comment should be directed to Michael’s attorney.”

Matt Barrows reports that Crabtree did make the trip to Atlanta with the rest of the team.

As of now, Crabtree has not been detained or arrested and is expected to play in Sunday’s Championship game against Atlanta.

We’ll have more on the subject as the news becomes available.

  1. once again, it seems like true sports fans will just stand up for their thug athletes and blame the lady. But unlike the dummies who commented, it’s not amusing. I’ve personally seen several pro athletes out and about and they on several occasions went way too far with (intoxicated or drugged) ladies. So I’m just not so sure that this wasn’t another “athlete” just went a little too far “celebrating” after the big game. After all, he’s a big shot with lots of cash so why can’t he do as he pleases? Really, If this dude is that stupid (a hookup with a stranger on a whim) he deserves what he gets.

  2. I find it amusing when young ladies try to say a athlete sexually assaulted them. They got millions of dollars and ladies throw themselves at them, then they try to get money out of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is what this is.
