NFC West Notes: 49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks

49ers

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said RB Matt Breida (ankle) has looked “a lot better” this week and the team will evaluate his availability in practice.

He’s looking a lot better these last two days than he did on Sunday. We’re definitely giving him today off. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. If he’s good, we’ll throw him in practice and evaluate him from there,” said Shanahan, via Adam Schefter.

  • 49ers CB Richard Sherman says he believes he is part of the team’s future and they have not mentioned anything to him about the possibility of a trade. (Matt Maiocco)

Cardinals

Rams

  • Rams HC Sean McVay said that DL Ndamukong Suh has been dealing with some swelling in his knee and they’re just being cautious with him by listing him as DNP on Wednesday. (Myles Simmons)
  • Rams DT Michael Brockers also did not practice, but both players are expected to play in Week 8.
  • McVay said there’s not much new to report on CB Aqib Talib, WR Pharoh Cooper, and WR Mike Thomas when it comes to who may come off IR, mainly because it’s a decision that’s weeks away. But, McVay did note that Talib has always been one of the players expected to return.

Seahawks

  • Seahawks LB K.J. Wright told reporters on Thursday that he took out an insurance policy this year in case he got hurt, considering that he’s in the final year of his contract. (Bob Condotta)
