NFC West Notes: 49ers, Rams, Seahawks

49ers

  • 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Tuesday that if the game was scheduled for Sunday, QB C.J. Beathard would be ready to go, but may not know if he can play in Week 9 until Thursday. (Matt Maiocco)
  • Beathard did not practice on Tuesday due to a wrist injury.
  • If Beathard can’t suit up for the 49ers on Thursday, Shanahan says Nick Mullens would start for them.

Rams

An online betting site released their odds for the Browns’ head-coaching job on Monday and surprisingly had Rams HC Sean McVay as the top option.

McVay made it clear that he’s perfectly happy where he is in  Los Angeles.

“I couldn’t be happier to be here with our players, with this organization, working for a great owner in [owner] Mr. [Stan] Kroenke,” McVay said. “Unless they decide they want to make a change, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

  • Regarding WR Cooper Kupp, McVay said: “He’s looking good. There’s a very good chance he’s going to be ready to go this week. He’s attacked his rehab just like I know we all anticipated he would, made a good recovery. If we really wanted to press it, he probably could’ve played last week.” (Adam Schefter)
