NFL Notes: Chargers, Eagles & Patriots

Chargers

  • Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune reported that first-round DE Joey Bosa was in San Diego for a Saturday autograph signing, but has no plans to speak to the media until he signs his rookie deal.
  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that the Chargers should consider giving into Bosa’s demands to not have offset language included in his rookie deal and the cash flow he’s looking for, considering that missing more time could impact his 2016 season.

Eagles

Eagles HC Doug Pederson mentioned that No. 2 overall pick QB Carson Wentz is likely to be inactive for games this season.

“Typically, the third quarterback is down,” said Pederson, via PhillyVoice.com. “It’s hard right now to look down the road, but if we had to play this week, Carson would be down. He’d be the third quarterback. He’d be deactivated. That’s probably the direction we’re heading, I would think is going that route. Obviously barring injury and, as you know, how this game is, but typically the third quarterback, whoever that is, is down on game day.

Patriots

Patriots WR Julian Edelman says his surgically-repaired foot is “feeling a day better than yesterday,” but didn’t offer a date for him  to return to full action.

“I’m feeling a day better than yesterday, and I’m feeling a second better than the last second,” Edelman said, via the Boston Herald. “Hopefully when that time’s up, that time’s up.”
