NFL Notes: Tom Condon, 49ers, Jets, Raiders

Tom Condon

Update:

Tom Condon has released a statement regarding the reports of him leaving CAA:

“I’ve had eight fantastic years at CAA. I’m not leaving and I’m going to finish my career there,” Condon said, via Chris Mortensen.

Alex Marvez and Mike Garaolo of FOX Sports are reporting that super-agent Tom Condon is leaving Creative Arts Agency.

This news comes shortly after CAA terminated the contract of fellow agent Ben Dogra.

According to “industry sources,” Condon could end up landing a position with Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports Agency.

49ers

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area writes that QB Colin Kaepernick‘s future with the 49ers is not tied to HC Jim Harbaugh’s employment.

Instead, Maiocco mentions that Kaepernick’s future with the team will come down to his production.

Kaepernick’s contract is really more of a pay-as-you-go contract, so they will have plenty of options available in the event they no longer believe he’s their franchise quarterback.

  • Maiocco adds that TE Vernon Davis‘ 2014 base salary of $4.95 million is likely “too much for a player who turns 31 in January” and the 49ers could consider moving on.
  • Maiocco expects WR Michael Crabtree to receive better offers from teams other than 49ers during free agency.

Jets

Raiders

  • The Raiders did not activate WR Rod Streater (foot) from short-term injured reserve on Saturday, but Vic Tafur expects him to be back for Week 14’s game against the 49ers.
