Packers Claim RB Kapri Bibbs Off Waivers From Redskins

The Green Bay Packers announced Monday that they’ve claimed RB Kapri Bibbs off of waivers from the Redskins.

Packers RB Aaron Jones suffered a knee injury and could miss the final two weeks of the season, so it’s not surprising to see them add some depth at the position.

Bibbs, 25, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State back in 2014. He was on and off of the Broncos’ practice squad before returning to Denver on a one-year, exclusive rights deal for the 2016 season.

The 49ers traded Bibbs and a 2017 fifth-round pick to the Broncos in return for a 2018 fourth-round selection, but San Fransisco elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Bibbs caught on with the Redskins a few months later and was on and off of their active roster before being waived this past Saturday.

In 2018, Bibbs has appeared in 10 games for the Redskins and rushed for 101 yards on 20 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 102 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
