The Green Bay Packers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed QB Jerod Evans to their practice squad.
The Packers’ practice squad now consists of:
- OLB Reggie Gilbert
- CB Donatello Brown
- LB Derrick Mathews
- OL Kofi Amichia
- WR DeAngelo Yancey
- DE Izaah Lunsford
- WR Michael Clark
- S Jermaine Whitehead
- G Darrell Greene
- QB Jerod Evans
The Packers previously tried Evans out and reports from Monday said they were looking to add a quarterback tot their practice squad, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
Evans, 23, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent back in May. He suffered a foot injury sooner after and was waived with an injury designation before reverting to their injured reserve list.
Philadelphia later cut him loose with a settlement.
During his one season at Virginia Tech, Evans threw for 3,552 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes to go along with 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions over the course of 14 games.
