Patriots Signing TE Clay Harbor

Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting that the Patriots and TE Clay Harbor have agreed to terms on a contract.

The Patriots brought Harbor in for a visit in the first week of free agency, but there wasn’t a lot of buzz regarding him since then. Although, it appears as though Harbor ultimately determined that the Patriots were his best option in the end.

Bill Belichick mentioned last season that Harbor is more of a fullback/tight end combination and compared him to Raiders FB Marcel Reece, per Mark Daniels.

Harbor, 28, was taken in the fourth-round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Eagles. He lasted three years in Philadelphia before signing on with the Jaguars in 2013. He was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Harbor appeared in 15 games for the Jaguars and recorded 14 receptions for 149 yards receiving and a touchdown.
