Patriots Disciplining WR Josh Gordon For Being Late To Meetings

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Patriots are planning to discipline WR Josh Gordon during Monday night’s game against the Bills for tardiness.

  • According to Rapoport, the Patriots will hold Gordon out for several series or about a quarter as they continue to work with him. From there, Rapoport says Gordon will return to his regular playing time.
  • Jeff Howe reports that Gordon showed up late for a meeting on Sunday before the team departed for Buffalo.
  • Kevin Duffy adds that Gordon also showed up late to a meeting last week.

Gordon, 27, is a former second-round supplemental pick of the Browns back in 2012. Suspensions forced Gordon to sit out the 2015 and 2016 seasons but he was reinstated in November of last year and finished out the seasons with the Browns.

The Browns re-signed Gordon to a one-year exclusive rights contract worth $790,000 but was traded to the Patriots for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

Gordon is in line to be a restricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Gordon has appeared in five games for the Browns and Patriots and caught 14 passes for 241 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
