Patriots Signing DL Ricky Jean Francois

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots are signing veteran DL Ricky Jean Francois to a contract on Tuesday.

Francois, 30, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2009. He played four seasons for San Francisco before departing and signing on with the Colts as an unrestricted free agent.

After two years, the Colts cut Jean-Francois loose and he signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Redskins in February of 2015. Washington released him during the offseason and he later signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Packers.

Jean-Francois has been on and off of the Packers’ roster this year.

In 2017, Jean Francois has appeared in six games for the Packers and recorded two tackles and no sacks.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
