Potential Middle Linebacker Targets For The Bears

Dan Pompei of the Bleacher Report offers a few speculative middle linebacker targets for the Bears in free agency.

Pompei believes the Bears should still look for upgrades at the position, even if Jon Bostic is to remain at the position. He doesn’t rule out the possibility of re-signing impending free agent D.J. Williams and mentions that the Bears actually liked what he was able to do for them while he was healthy.

As for free agents targets, Pompei lists: Daryl Smith (BAL), Karlos Dansby (ARI) and Jon Beason (NYG).

Smith is an interesting option given that he has played for Bears DC Mel Tucker while they were both in Jacksonville.

Chicago is currently projected to have close to $5.5 million in available cap space this offseason, but there are moves that can be made to increase that figure in the coming weeks. All of these players could come with reasonable asking prices, depending on the number of teams involved.

We have all them included in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
