Raiders Re-Sign RB Elijah Hood To Practice Squad

Michael Gehlken reports that the Raiders have re-signed RB Elijah Hood to their practice squad on Wednesday and he officially cleared waivers yesterday.

The Raiders’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Keon Hatcher
  2. CB Breon Borders
  3. DE Fadol Brown
  4. G Jordan Simmons
  5. TE Pharaoh Brown
  6. C James Stone
  7. WR Isaac Whitney
  8. LB Deontae Skinner
  9. DB Tevin Mitchel
  10. RB Elijah Hood

Hood, 21, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s NFL draft by the Raiders. Unfortunately, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and was later signed to the practice squad a few days later.

The Raiders promoted Hood to their active roster while RB Marshawn Lynch served his one-game suspension for making contact with an official. However, Hood was waived earlier in the week.

During his college career at UNC, Hood rushed for 2,580 yards on 430 carries (6 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 211 yards receiving and 29 total touchdowns over the course of 33 games.
