Raiders Retaining RB Marshawn Lynch, Gets $1M Bonus Sunday

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Raiders will retain RB Marshawn Lynch and pay him the $1 million roster bonus he’s owed tomorrow.

There was some talk that Lynch’s status with the Raiders could be in question after they recently signed Doug Martin to a contract, but it appears as though Jon Gruden has plans for him this season.

Lynch, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2007. He played three seasons in Buffalo before he was traded to the Seahawks.

Lynch decided to retire after six years with the Seahawks, but later came out of retirement last year and was traded to the Raiders.

As of now, Lynch is entering the second year of his two-year contract and set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Lynch has appeared in seven games and rushed for 891 yards on 207 carries (4.3 YPC) and seven touchdowns to go along with 20 receptions for 151 yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 running back out of 58 qualifying players.
