Rams Activate DE Chris Long From I.R. & Waive LB Marshall McFadden

The St. Louis Rams announced Saturday that DE Chris Long has officially been activated from the short-term injured reserve list.

Before being placed on injured reserve, Long hand’t missed a single game over the course of his six-year NFL career.

He went down with an ankle injury that required surgery close to 10 weeks ago. The Rams’ defense has actually been playing pretty well in recent weeks, so it will be interesting to see how much he gets on Sunday.

“We’ve missed him. We’ve missed his production,” HC Jeff Fisher said earlier in the week. “We’ve missed the consistent year after year sack production and his ability to play the run. When he comes back it should help us improve in those areas.”

Long, 29, is in the third year of his five-year, $60.31 million contract that included $36.76 million guaranteed. He restructured his contract a few months ago in a move freed up additional extra cap space for the Rams.
