Dexter McCluster Could Be An Option For The Browns

Update:

According to Matt Miller of the Bleacher Report, it “sounds” like free agent WR Dexter McCluster could sign with the Browns.

  • Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reported Monday that McClusterhas 4-5 suitors” and will not be returning to the Kansas City Chiefs next season.
  • Paylors adds that McCluster “will likely sign by Tuesday night.

McCluster, 25, was a versatile weapon during his four-year stay in Kansas City. He has lined up as a wide receiver and a running back while serving as the team’s kick returner and punt returner during this time.

McCluster arguably had his best season as a wide receiver in 2013, amassing a career high 53 receptions, 511 receiving yards and contributed two touchdowns and 686-yards as a punt returner.

There are number of return specialists in this year’s market including Devin Hester and Ted Ginn Jr, but it sounds like teams view McCluster as more than just a returner.

We’ll have more regarding McCluster as the news is available.
