Report: Jets Re-Signing DE David Bass

According to NFL Draft Diamonds, the Jets are re-signing veteran DE David Bass to a contract on Saturday.

  • Diamonds adds that Missouri Western OLB Darrian Bass, David’s brother, has been extended a camp invite with the Jets.

Bass, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. He, unfortunately, lasted just a few months in Oakland before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Bears.

Bass had brief stints with the Bears, Titans and Seahawks before the Jets signed him to a contract a few weeks into the 2017 season. He had been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent the past few months.

In 2017, Bass has appeared in two games and recorded one tackle for the Seahawks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.
