Gil Brandt of the NFL Network reports that Aussie Rugby player Jordan Mailata, who’s attempting to make the transition to playing football, has visits lined up with the Redskins, Steelers, Eagles, Browns and Chargers this week.
According to Brandt, Mailata is 6-foot-8, 346-pounds and has put together some impressive workouts recently that included a 5.12-second 40-yard dash and had a 4.67-second short shuttle time.
“I felt today went well,” Mailata told NFL.com of his workout. “This was my first chance to go through the positional drills in front of teams and I hope they got a chance to see the progress I have made as I try to master the position.”
Mailata, 20, has been working with the same coach who helped German WR Moritz Bohringer prepare for his NFL workouts before he was drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL draft.
