Jabari Greer’s Actual Contract Worth

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that Saints CB Jabari Greer‘s new three-year extension is actually worth $15.6 million.

It was initially reported that the deal was worth a total of $23 million, but Florio notes that Greer was already set to make a base salary of $5.4 million, bringing the total to $21 million. Greer should be able to make up the remaining $2 million in incentives.

Florio has been all over contracts that are trumpeted as being worth much more than they’ll end up being worth.

Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly is reporting that the Saints have agreed on a three-year extension with CB Jabari Greer that is worth $23 million.

Greer, 30, has been with the Saints since ’09 when they won the Superbowl and will now be under contract through the 2015 season. Greer has been a decent to average cornerback for the Saints in recent years and the loss of Tracey Porter most likely helped his leverage with the team.

Cornerback is still an area that they could use some addition at, so there’s a chance that the Saints could target someone in the later rounds of the upcoming draft.
