Saints CB Keenan Lewis Out 4-6 Weeks Following Hip Surgery

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Saints CB Keenan Lewis underwent a recent hip surgery and will be out of the lineup for 4-6 weeks.

New Orleans, unfortunately, placed third-round CB P.J. Williams on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday. However, they did claim CB Sammy Seamster off of waivers from the Dolphins.

Even so, it’s a huge loss to be without Lewis for any period of time.

Lewis, 29, is entering the third year of his five-year, $25.5 million contract that included $20.95 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $850,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Lewis appeared in all 16 games and recorded 41 tackles, two interceptions and 13 pass defenses for the Saints.
