Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that the Saints are hosting kicker tryouts this week after Zach Hocker missed a 30-yards field that would have won the game at that point.

Of course, New Orleans managed to win the game in overtime, but it was a close enough field goal that it probably should have been made.

The Buccaneers have already cut their kicker and the Steelers wasted little time moving on from Josh Scobee after he recent struggles, so there are a number of teams looking for help at the position.

Hocker, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins. However, he was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year and was among their final roster cuts.

The Dolphins later signed him to a future/reserve deal in early January before cutting him back May.

Hocker later caught on with the Saints and managed to win the job this summer.

In four games this season, Hocker has converted seven of nine (77.8 percent) of his attempts. He’s also five out of six in extra point tries.

We’ll have more regarding who’s trying out for the Saints as the news is available.
