Lyons Yellin reports that Saints HC Sean Payton has just informed CB Corey White that he’s been released.
White, 24, had another year remaining on his four-year, $2.76 million rookie contract that included a $1.542 million base salary for the 2015 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing White will free up $1,542,000 in available cap space while creating $44,125 in dead money.
In 2014, White appeared in 15 games and recorded 53 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, a recovery, and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 106 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
