Saints Worked Out CBs D’Joun Smith & Shakiel Randolph

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints brought in CB D’Joun Smith for a workout on Tuesday.

  • Nick Underhill adds that the Saints also tried out CB Shakiel Randolph on Thursday.

This isn’t a big surprise, considering that the injuries the Saints have sustained at cornerback this season.

Smith, 22, was taken in the third round of last year’s NFL draft and signed a four-year, $3.314 million contract that included an $808,846 signing bonus.

Indianapolis placed Smith knee on short-term I.R. with a knee injury just a few weeks into the regular season. Unfortunately, the Colts waived Smith with an injury designation a few weeks ago and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

The Colts waived Smith from injured reserve with a settlement a few weeks ago.

In 2015, Smith appeared in four games and recorded one tackle and a fumble recovery for the Colts.
