Steelers Cut 13 Players, Place K Garrett Hartley & CB Senquez Golson On I.R.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the release of 10 players on Monday, as they work to trim their roster down to 75 players.

The list of players either released or placed on waivers includes:

  1. TE Cameron Clear (injured)
  2. DE Niko Davis (injured)
  3. TE Ray Hamilton (injured)
  4. G Miles Dieffenbach
  5. WR Kenzel Doe
  6. WR C.J. Goodwin
  7. RB Braylon Heard
  8. DE Joe Kruger
  9. DT Joe Okafor
  10. OL Collin Rahrig
  11. CB Jordan Sullen
  12. OT Kevin Whimpey
  13. S Ian Wild

Pittsburgh also placed K Garrett Hartley and second-round pick CB Senquez Golson on season-ending injured reserve.

Hartley, 28, had spent five seasons with the Saints before he was released in December of last year. The Browns signed him to a contract at the end of the 2014 season, but elected to release him shortly after the draft.

The Steelers wound up signing him to a contract after K Shaun Suisham sustained a season-ending knee injury a few weeks ago.

Pittsburgh wound up trading a 2016 sixth-round pick for Jaguars K Josh Scobee, so they’re set at place kicker for the 2015 season.

Last year, Hartley appeared in two games and converted all three of his field goal attempts and his two extra point tries.
