Virginia Tech CB Adonis Alexander Officially Enters 2018 Supplemental Draft

According to Andy Ross, Virginia Tech CB Adonis Alexander has been formally entered into the 2018 NFL Supplement draft.

Reports from earlier in the week mentioned that Alexander was expected to be among the prospect to apply for entry in the draft, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Alexander has reportedly had off-field issues but offers great size at 6-3, talent and a high upside. Virginia Tech recently dismissed Alexander.

The Supplement will be held on July 11.

Alexander played three seasons at Virginia Tech and recorded 125 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, seven interceptions, 17 pass defenses, and a forced fumble over the course of 32 games.

It’s rare for anyone to be selected in a supplemental draft, so it’s notable to hear that Alexander could be selected in this year’s draft.

The last player taken in a supplement draft came back in 2015 when the Rams elected to use a fifth-round pick on OT Isaiah Battle. Before that, the Browns used a second-round pick on WR Josh Gordon back in 2012.

We’ll have more regarding Alexander and the supplemental draft as the news is available.
