49ers Haven’t Closed Door On Re-Signing WR Anquan Boldin

49ers GM Trent Baalke tells Tom Pelissero that they haven’t closed the door on re-signing veteran WR Anquan Boldin at some point.

However, Baalke saidย that both sides are currently taking their time looking at their available options. As of now,ย Baalke mentioned that they’re comfortable with their current group of receivers.

There hasn’t been a lot of interest in Boldin since the free agent market opened several months ago. Although, he did visit with the Redskins, but didn’t receive an offer from the team.

Boldin, 35,ย is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2003. He spent seven years in Arizona before being traded to the Ravens in 2010.ย Baltimore later traded him to the 49ers where’s he’s remained for the past three seasons.

Boldin finished out hisย two-year, $12 million contractย that includedย $5.5 million guaranteedย andย is testing the market as anย unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Boldin appeared in 14 games for the 49ers and caught 69 passes for 789 yards receiving and four touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focusย rated him as the No. 33 overall receiverย out of 119 qualifying players.

We haveย him featuredย in ourย Best Available Free Agents list.
