Samuel, 23, was the No. 36 overall pick by the 49ers out of South Carolina. San Francisco had a clear interest in him after hosting him for an official visit during the pre-draft process.
According to OverTheCap.com, Samuel receives a four-year, $7,697,356 rookie contract including a $3,618,076 signing bonus.

During his four-year career at South Carolina, Samuel caught 148 passes for 2076 yards (14.0 YPC) and 16 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 25 times for 154 yards and 7 touchdowns while adding 1219 total kick return yards in 30 games.
