AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Bengals

Browns

Ravens

  • Ravens HC John Harbaugh said of CB Jimmy Smith, who is out with knee injury: โ€œHeโ€™s doing well. I think itโ€™s very positive. You canโ€™t say for sure. He hasnโ€™t run yet. But heโ€™s close to that. It sounds like heโ€™s on schedule, quote unquote. Weโ€™ll know more probably in the next two weeks.โ€ (Jamison Hensley)
  • Regarding the team’s reported trade interest in Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey, Harbaugh said: โ€œI donโ€™t know anything about that. Obviously, you canโ€™t and would never comment on another player on another team. Iโ€™m like fans. I read it and it has a little interest because somebody gets traded to a team weโ€™re playing or away from a team we play, that matters to us. If weโ€™re ever involved with one of those, then it really matters to us.โ€ (Jamison Hensley)
  • The Ravens officially ruled out CB Jimmy Smith (knee) and S Brynden Trawick (elbow) for Week 3’s game and list TE Mark Andrews (foot) and DT Patrick Ricard (back) as questionable.

Steelers

Steelers DC Keith Butler said the first thing that went through his head following the news that they’ve traded for DB Minkah Fitzpatrick was “Hallelujah.”

โ€œHallelujah!โ€ Butler said, via PennLive.com. โ€œThatโ€™s what went through my mind. Thatโ€™s exactly what went through my mind, Iโ€™m tellinโ€™ ya.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m glad we got him, we needed him,โ€ Butler added. โ€œWatch him in practice, yโ€™all see the same thing I do, that dude can move.โ€

  • Steelers rookie WR Diontae Johnson said that the coaching staff has told him heโ€™s the starter for Sundayโ€™s game against the 49ers and from here on out: โ€œIโ€™m just trying to do what I can, now that Iโ€™m getting the offense right now and starting. Just trying to continue to show the coaches that I know what Iโ€™m doing and getting ready for Sunday.โ€ (Josh Rowntree)
  • The Steelers officially ruled out LB Anthony Chickillo (foot), RB Roosevelt Nix (knee), and LB Vince Williams (hamstring) for Week 3’s game.
