AFC Notes: Broncos, Browns, Colts

Broncos

  • Nick Jhabvala reports that Broncos WR Jordan Taylor will not participate in the team’s OTAs, which get underway next week, as he’s still recovering from hip surgeries he underwent earlier this offseason.

Browns

New Browns DB Damarious Randall said during an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio that he was “definitely quite surprised” to be traded by the Packers.

“Was definitely quite surprised, but like I said Green Bay had some different moves in the front office and they just felt better with me not being there,” Randall said. “Other Green Bay guys went to Cleveland so they know what I can do. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity.”

Randall added that he’s looking forward to moving to safety and playing more of his natural position.

“It was hard when I was a corner to watch tape because I had to look at more of the receiver and I’m more of a football junky and I like to see the whole play,” Randall said. “This year I can be more myself at my natural position and I’m ready to go to work.

Colts

Colts GM Chris Ballard said that while QB Andrew Luck isn’t throwing footballs yet, they’re looking forward to seeing him play with a chip on his shoulder this season.

“Do I wish he would just go out there — and let’s just fill the stadium and let’s just throw 150 balls? God, that would be great. But that’s just not where we’re at,” Ballard said, via Colts.com“I think it’s a great thing when you have a great player with a chip (on his shoulder) — and we’ve got one. And that’s going to be fun for all of us.”

  • The Colts have recently hosted some notable free agent defensive backs including S Kenny Vaccaro (NFLTR), S Tre Boston (NFLTR) and CB Bashaud Breeland (NFLTR).
  • However, Stephen Holder says that he would continue to classify all these free agent visits as mostly informational. Holder adds that his understanding is that no signings are imminent for the Colts at this time.
