Broncos

  • ESPN’s Bill Barnwell outlines a potential trade between the Broncos and the Cowboys, with Dallas sending a 2021 second and 2022 fourth-round pick to Denver for S Justin Simmons
  • Dallas gets a big addition to help a poor defense while Denver gets better compensation than if they let Simmons walk in free agency in lieu of tagging him a second time.
  • Broncos RB Melvin Gordon returned to practice Thursday after being sent home following a DUI Wednesday. (Ryan O’Halloran
  • Broncos HC Vic Fangio said Gordon is slated to be punished pretty harshly by the NFL so they’re not sure if they will have anything on top of that. (James Palmer)
  • Fangio termed TE Noah Fant “truly questionable, 50-50” to play while CB A.J. Bouye is doubtful to play against the Patriots this week. (Troy Renck)

Chiefs

  • ESPN’s Bill Barnwell outlines a potential trade between the Bengals and Chiefs. Cincinnati would trade C Billy Price and a 2021 seventh-round pick for the Chiefs’ 2021 fifth-round pick.
  • Price is in need of a fresh start and he could help fill a need for Kansas City on the interior offensive line, per Barnwell.
  • Chiefs HC Andy Reid said WR Sammy Watkins will not go on injured reserve with his hamstring injury, which would have knocked him out a minimum of three weeks. (Adam Teicher
  • The Chiefs are hosting LB Emmanuel Smith for a visit this week. (Aaron Wilson)

Raiders

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Jets had late trade talks with the Dolphins, Patriots, and Raiders regarding a potential deal for RB Le’Veon Bell. However, no team was willing to take on Bell’s contract, considering that it included injury protections in 2021.
