AFC Notes: Broncos, Raiders, Texans

Broncos

  • Broncos HC Vic Fangio said LB Alexander Johnson hurt his knee late in the Buffalo game and his status is “up in the air” for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. (Vic Fangio)

Raiders

Texans

Texans S Tashaun Gipson said he missed two games this season due to a transverse process fracture in his back and needed the rest to recover.

“It’s terrible. You still play with those things, but those things don’t truly heal until you get rest. It’s a weird injury,” said Gipson, via Wilson.

Gipson called his back fracture a “nagging injury” and wanted to avoid playing “timid.”

“Every play is like a car accident. Playing safety, I can’t be timid. I have to bring it. If not, it’s not really a good look. If I played corner, I could get my Deion Sanders on. It’s a nagging injury,” said Gipson, via Wilson.

  • Texans corner Lonnie Johnson Jr. said his ankle injury is improving: “At first, I thought it was real bad. I’m getting there, I’m good. I’m just trying to go out there and make plays when they come.” (Aaron Wilson)
  • Texans CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) said he is feeling “a lot better” and has been “taking it slow” with his recovery: “I’m feeling a lot better. It was very serious. It’s one of those things where the type of injury it was, if you come back too early, you can re-aggravate it, you could miss the whole season. We’ve just been taking it slow.” (Aaron Wilson)
