AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders

Broncos

New Broncos OC Rich Scangarello explained Thursday that his offensive system “empowers the quarterback” and he believes they should be able to get Case Keenum back to playing how he was in Minnesota.

He’s gritty, a competitor,” Scangarello said of Keenum, per Troy Renck. “Each guy is a little unique. You have to adapt to him. I see traits where we can help him and play confident like he did in Minnesota.”

Chiefs

Chiefs impending free agent OLB Dee Ford said at the Pro Bowl that he’d be “blessed to be able to stay” in Kansas City if they end up using the franchise tag on him.

“That’s the option,” Ford said, via NFL.com. “Of course, that’s home to me. I love the community and I’m just used to that environment, so I’ll be blessed to be able to stay. We’ll cross that bridge once when we get there.”
