Alabama QB A.J. McCarron Could Be The Fourth Or Fifth QB Drafted?

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has spoken to a few evaluators who “strongly” believe Alabama QB A.J. McCarron will be the fourth or fifth quarterback to come off the board.

  • La Canfora adds that the evaluators “continue to gush about his film,” and mentions thatย McCarron has beenย flying under the radar.

McCarronย mentioned a few weeks ago that NFL teams have told himย that they have aย first-round grade on him.

“They felt like I could go anywhere from 16-35,” McCarron said, viaย Al.com.ย “I believe that, too. At the same time, I don’t have my hopes set on anything. Whatever happens, happens. It’s a blessing for me to even be in this situation.”

It seems highly unlikely that the Cowboys would be in play for him at No. 16 overall. La Canfora isn’t saying thatย McCarron will come off the board in round one, but he could certainly be high day-two selection as there are a number of teams in need of a quarterback drafting at that point.

McCarron has met with a number of teams in need of a quarterback including theย Browns,ย Ravens,ย Jaguars,ย Rams,ย Patriotsย while canceling a visit with theย Titans. Theย Cardinalsย have also come up as a team to watch in regards to McCarron.

We have McCarron falling past round two in our most recentย 2014 NFL Mock Draft, but that could change later in the week.
