Bears WR Allen Robinson still has another year on his contract with Chicago after 2019, but he’s seen enough to know he wants to remain with the team long-term.
“I would love to be the Bears’ all-time leading receiver,” Robinson said, via Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times. “With the longevity of the organization and players who have come before here, goals like that are big. Being the all-time leading receiver for a franchise like the Chicago Bears is special. I’ve really enjoyed my two years. We’ve won a lot of games. From an organization standpoint, it’s a top-flight organization and coaching staff.”
If the Bears are willing to offer Robinson a market-value contract, he says he’s “definitely” open to doing a new deal.
โYeah, definitely,โ Robinson said. โThereโs a lot that goes into it .โ.โ. but as far as how comfortable I am here and how much I like it here, I definitely would foresee spending many more years here.โ
Robinson, 26, is a former second-round pick by the Jaguars back in 2014. He played out the final year of a four-year, $3.510 million rookie contract before agreeing to a three-year, $42 million contract with roughly $25 million guaranteed with the Bears last year.
Robinson stands to make base salaries of $9,900,000 and $10,900,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2019, Robinson has appeared in 13 games for the Bears and caught 76 passes for 898 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.
