The Chicago Bears officially released DT Daniel McCullers on Friday and activated DT John Jenkins from injured reserve.
Jenkins, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2013. Jenkins spent three years in New Orleans before he was waived during the 2016 season.
From there, Jenkins played for a number of teams including the Seahawks, Giants, Dolphins and Bears. Chicago re-signed him to a one-year deal this past April.
In 2020, Jenkins has appeared in two games for the Bears and recorded two tackles.
McCullers, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2014. He played out his four-year, $2,298,680 contract with the Steelers before returning to Pittsburgh in 2018 on a one-year deal.
From there, the Steelers signed McCullers to a two-year deal worth $2.75 million last year. However, he was released coming out of the preseason and later re-signed to their practice squad.
The Bears signed McCullers to their active roster last month.
In 2019, McCullers appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and recorded eight tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.
