Mike Garafolo reports that the Bears are likely to startย Jay Cutler in Week 17 with David Fales operating as the team’sย backup.
“Jay gives us the best chance this week, so that’s why he’ll be up,” saidย Bears HC Marc Trestman of the decision to start Cutler.

The Chicago Bears announced that QB Jimmy Clausen did, in fact, suffer a concussion after he took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Lions DEย Ziggy Ansah as he was sliding to the ground.

According to the Bears,ย Clausen did not exhibit any signs or symptoms of concussion until after leaving stadium Sunday night. The reportedly checked Clausen multiple times after hit.
Clausen, 27,ย signed a one-year, $645,000 contract with the Bears back in June and this was his only start of the season. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent next year.
He finished Sunday’s gameย completing 23-of-39 passes for 181 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
It will be interesting to see if they turn back to Jay Cutler for Week 17’s game or if they want to see what David Fales can do.
