Bears S Chris Harris tweeted this morning that he has been released by the team.
“I was just released this morning by the Bears. Thank u for the opp to play football n do what I luv. I’m looking toward my next venture,” Harris wrote. “This Business known as the #NFL is a strange one. Chicago I want to thank u for all the luv u have shown me over the yrs. u will b missed.”
Harris was due to make $1.095 million this season but he’ll now be passed through waivers before he can find a new team. I’d seriously doubt that any team would be willing to claim him at this point but he may find some work after the waiver period is over.
The Bears have been playing Chris Conte over Brandon Meriweather but their safety position remains a concern.
