Adam Jahns has been told by sources that the Bears are expected to sign WR/KR Mario Alford to a contract on Tuesday.

Jahns admits that he doesn’t know if Alford is being added to the Bears’ practice squad or active roster.

The Bears have to bring in some help at receiver after they lost Kevin White for the season due to a fractured scapula.

Alford, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bengals back in 2015. He was waived with an injury settlement after one year in Cincinnati and later signed to the Jets’ practice squad back in November of last year.

Alford would finish out the 2016 season with the Browns but was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Alford was active for three games but did not catch a single pass. He did, however, contribute 190 kick return yards and 68 punt return yards on special teams.
