According to Ian Rapoport, Bears OL Cody Whitehair has tested positive for COVID-19.
Whitehair is the second Bears offensive lineman to test positive following Jason Spriggs yesterday. The team elected to do all activities virtual today and close the facility out of caution.
Rapoport adds there don’t appear to be many close contacts to Whitehair that would indicate further spread. The team was already in the intensive protocols.
The Bears released the following statement:

Whitehair, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Bears back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year contract worth $4,224,568 and set to make a base salary of $1.026 million for the 2019 season when he signed a five-year, $52.5 million extension in 2019.
In 2020, Whitehair has appeared in seven games for the Bears and started all seven at center. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 center out of 38 qualifying players.
