Bears Place G Kyle Long & DL Mitch Unrein On IR, Promote Two

The Chicago Bears announced Tuesday that they’ve placed G Kyle Long and DL Mitch Unrein on injured reserve and promoted LB Howard Jones and OL Cameron Lee to their active roster.

  • The Bears also signed OL Will Pericak and TE Colin Thompson to their practice squad.

The Bears’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Brandon Greene
  2. DL Rashaad Coward
  3. DB Doran Grant
  4. WR Nelson Spruce
  5. G Travis Averill
  6. WR Tanner Gentry
  7. WR Demarcus Ayers
  8. DB Alex Carter
  9. OL Will Pericak
  10. TE Colin Thompson

Long, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2013. He’s currently in the second year of his six-year, $50.358 million contract that included $30 million and stands to make base salaries of $2.24 million and $6.9 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Long appeared in 10 games for the Bears and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 28 guard of 76 qualifying players.
