Burton, 28, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2014. He played out his three-year, $1,537,500 contract with the Eagles before returning to Philadelphia on a one-year restricted deal in 2017.
He signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Bears as an unrestricted free agent in last year’s offseason and set to make a base salary of $6,700,000 this season.
In 2019, Burton has appeared in eight games and recorded 14 receptions for 84 yards receiving (6.0 YPC) and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 63 overall tight end out of 70 qualifying players.
