Bears Roster Cuts Including LB Mason Foster & TE Dante Rosario

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears have informed veteran LB Mason Foster that they are terminating his contract, as they cut their roster down to 53 players.

The Bears have released or waived:

Foster, 26, signed a one-year deal with the Bears back in March with the hope that he could solidify one of their interior linebacker spots. However, it appears as though things didn’t go as planned for him this summer.

Last year, Foster appeared in 10 games and recorded 62 tackles and three pass defenses for the Buccaneers. Pro Football Focus has Foster rated as the No. 43 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.

The Bears have informed veteran TE Dante Rosario they are terminating his contract, according to Brad Biggs.

Rosario, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2007. He’s played for a number of teams since then including the Broncos, Dolphins, Chargers, Cowboys, and Bears.

Chicago re-signed him to a one-year, $870,000 contract back in March.

In 2014, Rosario appeared in all 16 games for Chicago and caught 16 passes for 116 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 41 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

We’ll have more roster cuts from the Bears added as the news is available.
