The Chicago Bears announced Monday that S Deiondre’ Hall has been suspended without pay for the first game of the season for violating the NFL’s Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
Hall, 24, is a former fourth-round pick out of Northern Iowa by the Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft. He is in the third year of a four-year, $2.851 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $630,000 this year.
Hall was placed on the injured reserve list in September of last year with a hamstring injury. Chicago designated him to return and he later rejoined the team in December.
In 2017, Hall was active for two games but did not record a statistic.
