Bears To Sign LS Jeff Overbaugh

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears are expected to sign long snapper Jeff Overbaugh to a contract following a tryout on Monday.

The Bears are in the market for a new long snapper after they lost Patrick Scales for the season with a torn ACL.

Overbaugh, 23, wound up signing on with the as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State back in June of last year. He was, unfortunately, waived during the preseason and sat out the entire 2016 season.

The Broncos signed him to a future/reserve contract this past January, only cut him loose a few days after this year’s draft.

Overbaugh has yet to appear in an NFL game.
