The Chicago Bears brought in five players for tryouts on Monday including safeties Kentrell Brice and Derrick Kindred, according to Howard Balzer.
The full list of tryouts for the Bears includes:
- LB Devante Bond (signed)
- LB Kevin Brown
- LB Terrance Smith
- S Kentrell Brice
- S Derrick Kindred
Brice, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana Tech in 2016. He has managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first three seasons in the NFL.
Brice finished his three-year, $1.62 million rookie contract with the Packers before they declined to tender him a restricted offer this past offseason. He later signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers but was waived coming out of the preseason.
In 2018, Brice appeared in 14 games for the Packers and recorded 50 tackles, one sack, no interceptions, and two pass defenses.
Kindred, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Browns back in 2016. Cleveland waived him back in April and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Colts.
Indianapolis elected to cut Kindred during the preseason and he was later claimed by the Jets. Unfortunately, New York moved on from his soon after.
In 2018, Kindred appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 43 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 90 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
