The Chicago Bears officially waived C Cornelius Edison and DB Demontre Hurst on Sunday.
Hurst, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Oklahoma back in 2013 before signing on with the Bears. Hurst was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but has been on and off of their practice squad the past three seasons.
Hurst was in the final year of his two-year, $1.110 million contract and set to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2015, Hurst appeared in sevenย games for the Bears and recorded a fiveย tackles.
